I may be moving to Oklahoma within 3 years to be near my daughters. I have a masters degree in special education and am certified to teach the following areas in Texas: Special Ed. Spanish (grades 1-12) History (6-12) Reading (1-12) ESL (1-12) Bilingual Ed (1-12) English (6-12) Elementary Self Contained 1-8 Generalist 4-8 I am considering attempting to get the OK certification. If I don't do that, I may just sub because I will be retiring from Texas. I have been told by my ex-husband that the area where he lives hires Texas teachers because Texas teachers are used to teaching with state mandated tests curriculum. I have also been told that the fact that I am certified in Spansih would help get a high school position in the area where they live.
