I would like to move up to either Portland, OR or Vancouver, WA for the next school year. What is the prospect for a special education teacher with a full credential from CA and moderate-severe specialization and autism certification. I have 7 years full time experience working with students with autism and 3 years experience working with students with multiple disabilities. I would like to know if I would be able to land a teaching position with this much experience at all? I would appreciate any responses if possible.

Liz I'm not sure that you may be familiar with Oregon and the ESD's. They often handle the special ed teachers. This link lists each one, and there may be jobs on their sites:

Liz One more thing, subbing as a licensed teacher pays about 150 a day. The area you are looking at includes the counties: multnomah, washington, and clackamas.

TT that means working janitorial work or part time work. It's a hole no matter where in the country you are trying to find a teaching job.
