My class will be reading the story the Gingerbread Man and doing a project with it. I am asking if anyone would mind assisting with this... if you would like to please email me at [email removed].
Project letter: My name is the Gingerbread Man, my friend in CLass 2H was reading a story about me and i jumped out of the storybook to visit you. My friend at school is wondering where I have run to. Please help them by sending them a picture postcard showing them the area where you live. This postcard will be posted on a large map of the world outside of my classroom. This will help the children by showing them how different parts of the world look. I know my friends will enjoy hearing from you and learning where I have run! Thank you for your help! Got to go! The Gingerbread Man

Found a fantastic new chapter-book series for ages 7-9 that the kids in my class are thrilled about. It's called the Incredible Journey Books and it has fast-paced worldly adventures filled with geography facts. The plots are interesting and the series has done the trick to get my third-grade class interested in exploring the world map. The books have a great site that has an Africa unit along with puzzles to go with each book. Go to [link removed].

I am Helth/PE teacher in Rhode Island and I am interested in becoming certified in biology and general science. I have seen the requirements on the RIDE website, but does anyone know the exact classes that are needed for the certification? (Courses preferably at URI, CCRI, RIC) Also will any of my Health/PE classes fulfill the requirements for the certification? I would like to start taking classes soon. Thanks.
I would call RIC secondary ed dept. and ask them. Perhaps some of your health course could be counted. I wouldn't take the chance on just depending on us to tell you, just in case. I'd want to get it right from the horse's mouth!! Good luck/.

I'm certified in elementary and early childhood in MA. I haven't done the research yet, but am wondering ... can anyone tell me what I'd need to do to earn RI certification? I'm not too far from the RI border and the market here in MA is horrible. I'm considering starting the job search in RI. Is is just as bad there?
I teach in ma and live in ri. i've heard it's pretty hard to get a teaching job there, especially if you aren't related to anyone (nepotism is rampant in this state). of course with early childhood you could get a job at a daycare, but i know that doesn't pay too well. can you add on a certification like in special ed? you only need to complete some coursework (I did it a few years ago by taking 24 credits in special ed, didnt' have to do any addtional student teaching/practicum - just send in the application to doe for it and they'll tell you what you have to take. same with esl - in fact, you may only need to pass the test for esl.
