    HI. I know many people have asked before, but times change and I was wondering if anything seems better as far as job outlook in 2010. I am certified in Rhode Island in grades 1-6.     Christen Thank you for the info. The tests I am speaking of are the Massachusetts state tests for licensure...the MTEL? They only offer these tests in major cities such nas Philadelphia, New York, etc....nowhere near me. If you know of anything otherwise I would appreciate the info.

    I was wondering if anyone has any information about another recall list for Providence. I have been subbing for the past 2 years and I have not been called back yet for this school year.     I have a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and I was wondering what I would have to do if I wanted substitute teach in RI. Is there an exam that I have to take? If so where could I take it. Thank you!

    Hi there, I am moving to CT from CA this summer, and understand that finding an elem ed position is next to impossible. I was wondering if there is more of a need in RI? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.....I've gotta get out of this crazy state! Thx.

    I don't know of a system in RI that does not have a union. Contact the union office.

    what are the rules of eligibility for substitute teachers in RI? I was looking at the ridoe website and couldn't find any answers. Does anybody know where I can go to for answers? Thank you.
    riteacher Each district hires its own subs. They prefer subs that are certified but many districts will hire you if you have a college degree.
