Currently, I am in my third year as a candidate for national boards. The first year I scored 208 and the second year 225. Do any of you think it's remotely possible that I could score a 275? Have you heard of anyone doing so? I'm feeling discouraged and I'm not sure how to proceed from here?!?!
New NBCTI passed after 3 attempts. Anything is possible. My advice would be to make sure that you read and understand your standards and directions. Make sure that you answer all questions. Make sure that you are discussing student learning and your reflection as a teacher.
Run for your life! Transfer! This advice is coming from the lips of a TAP mentor. This will be my last year of mentor ship. I see so much stress on teachers, which in turn transfers to stress on students. I've been teaching for 25 years and don't agree with TAP "methods". If I had a choice, I wouldn't teach at a TAP school.
I am trying to get out of my South Carolina teaching contract (I HATE where I am) and the personnel department is being difficult. If I break my contract to go to North Carolina, what are the consequences? Will it affect my NC teaching license?

I don't about breaking SC contracts but would read the policy and procedures manual probably on the county website. In NC you can break your contract with 30 days written notice to the superintendent and your pay ends for the actual days you work that are left. I am responding becuase I am considering relocating to SC from NC. I HATE it here. The pay is thousdands less than most places and the work is double. The training is ridiculous here and constant with no comp time even. We had 14 hours of training last week after school and I got home after 9 PM three nights. Their are too many hands in the pot and the central office people check every thing you do in the ECP dept. They have too much power and control. What is so horrid in SC
