I am trying to understand the various types of contracts that are used to employ SC teachers. Are any SC teachers actually tenured (K-12)? Are K-12 retired teachers tenured? As I understand it, most, if not all, SC teachers are "at will" employees, leaving them virtually powerless. Is this true? Has anyone ever heard of the SC Teacher Dismissal Act or the State Code of Civil Procedure?
