The Government Pension Offset (GPO) and Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) results in less teachers. A huge number of young people are opting not to go into education because of the unfair GPO and WEP. Our country is crying for more teachers as Congress steals teachers Social Security. It appears to me that Congress does not care about educating our young people. They steal their money and give it to people that have not earned it. THIS IS SOCIALISM. Our country will suffer and go downhill more and more as time goes by with less teachers every year.
We are getting closer and closer to being a Third World Country!

Does Utah require teachers to have a masters or to take certain tests? Are there certain areas that are looking for teachers more. I am interested in northern Utah, particularly Logan. Is it hard to find a teaching job, because there are so many applicants? Any information would be appreciated. Thank You.
no, there are no tests to become certified to teach in Utah and no, you do not need your masters. I believe that it is hard to find a teaching job because the state is small for all of the colleges with teaching degrees from one end of the state to the other end. Good Luck..

AT last fossil reproductions that educators can afford to make for every student. Campers can Use our molds to cast their own full size fossil reproduction for pennies each

Is any of you third grade teachers aware of some sites that would be helpful with the science core? I am new to third grade and could really use the help. Thanks in advance.
I plan on moving to the SLC area in January, 2004 and am looking for a teaching position. My current certifications are in Florida and include 1) Business Education grades 6 - 12, and Middle Grades Subject areas (all) grades 5 - 9.
I have five years experience in education after a successful career in business. Much of my experience has been with remedial instruction, particularly in math.
Hi all, My husband and I are teachers from Berlin, CT. Rob recently authored his first book and several school districts across the country are using it with their kids. It's titled, A Winner by Any Standard: A Personal Growth Journey for Every American Teen and it promotes all the ideals upon which future success is built—e.g., optimism, gratitude, self-belief, a strong work ethic, a sense of wonder, humility, originality. Any word of mouth you can spread would be greatly appreciated as #1, it can empower young people and #2, the literary world isn't set up to accept/assist a schoolteacher with no national platform from which to promote. I am trying to decide whether or not to get my secondary teaching certificate with an endorsement in French. I would love to teach French, and already have a bachelor's degree, so it would only take a couple semesters to do it, however I am worried that I will end up with another worthless piece of paper. (My bachelor's is in Sociology with a minor in Psychology.) If anyone has insight on this, I would love to hear it. Thanks!
Don't do it. A teaching degree is another worthless paaper. If I were you, I would go study something else, but not any more teaching endorsement courses; No way in HELL. I am a teacher and going to school pursuing a more durable career. If you Got the Brains, do something else, cuz teaching is bound to a a Dead End Street, Baby!!!:-0
My wife and I are in search of jobs around the St. George area. She is a counselor and I am a math teacher. Does anyone know of any openings for the 2004-5 school year?
