The greater Atlanta area is home to a growing Asian community, who are concentrated in the northeast. Atlanta is cosmopolitan, drawing people from around the US and overseas. I think you will feel comfortable there.

I am looking for teachers who are dedicated and will participate fully in this project. Each teacher will be responsible for sending a postcard to each of the other states. Please include information about your state such as state symbols and interesting facts. Our third grade curriculum includes learning about our town so we will include that information as well. In return, you will receive a postcard back from each of the states involved. Address labels will be provided to you if you wish. Also, a list of names, addresses, and school websites will be e- mailed to you.
My goal is to mail address labels by September 15th. The mailing deadline for the postcards is November 4th.

I am looking for a teacher to participate in my leaf exchnage this fall. Last year was the first year I organized this exchange and it was a complete success! We had a wide range of classes from PreK to 3rd grade. It gives out learners a glimpse of fall around the country first hand and encompasses all curriculum areas: language arts (letter writing), math (sorting, graphing, counting), social studies (mapping), and science (climate, fall changes).
Participating in the exchange includes: -Collecting and lamenating fall leaves from your area -Labeling the leaf with the type of tree it came from. -Writing a letter from your class that tells us where in your state you are located(for mapping purposes)and a little about your area, school, class, thing you like to fo in the fall, etc.
This exchange has a limit of 20 participants, so that it doesn't become overwhelming. I already filled one group of 20, but there was such an overwhelming response that I started a second group. I'd love to have Utah be a part of it!
There are only 8 spots left to fill!
I need everyone interested in participating to send me their first and last name, school name, and full school address. When you send me this information, you are agreeing to send leaves and letters to ALL the other participants; it's just fair that way!

Roloff and I are conducting a research study entitled, Classroom justice, principled dissent, and tenure status: Instructor reactions to perceived unfairness (IRB Project # 0423-055). The purpose of this research study is to explore instructor perceptions of, and reactions to, justice violations within school policies and procedures.
I am in desperate need of a population to sample and thus I am asking you, my fellow educators, if you would be willing to volunteer for my study and complete a questionnaire (the link is provided below). I am very interested in having your viewpoints included in this study and would greatly appreciate your being willing to spare a little bit of your time (approximately 45 minutes) to help a fellow educator and hardworking graduate student. However, I am now encountering serious problems that need your help. Online Raters Needed for HSTW Program (High Schools That Work)
Who: Teachers and Individuals with Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, general science, English, and/or language arts. Current or prior teaching experience at high school or middle school levels is highly desirable. Middle school teachers should be experienced in Algebra. Graduate students (Teaching Assistants) and substitute teachers are also welcome to apply.
Applicants must be residents of the United States.
What: To score HSTW student responses to open-ended performance questions by computer, using ETS scoring rubrics
Where: HSTW raters will use the Online Scoring NetworkTM (OSN) system to evaluate examinees’ responses using a computer from their home or office.
When: February 1 – March 5, 2006
Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university Scorers must have computers that meet the minimum hardware and software requirement (please see [link removed])
Training: Approved applicants will self-train using the online tutorial followed by certification. Successful certification is required to score.
Schedule: Raters are required to work in four or eight hour increments up to a maximum of 40 hours a week.
Compensation: Approved and certified raters earn $15 an hour
