The purpose of my research is to describe twice retained, middle students’ experiences with grade retention, grade retention’s influence on students’ motivation, factors contributing to grade retention, and possible alternatives to grade retention. I was bullied in my first job by a sped coteacher and two assistants. They just refused to do any work while in my room and went to the principal with how terrible I was. They bonded over it. One assistant was especially nasty, trying to take over lessons and yelling when asked to do something differently. It was a mess. I got another job the next school year, after being worried sick about my teaching career being over. Ever since, I've been wary about having other teachers in my room.
You might want to think about tutoring. It's a way to get back into the swing of things but a lot less stress. Even volunteering at a school. If you can, I think it would be good to move on and get fresh experiences instead of ruminating.

I was recently seeking jobs to relocated to the Roanoke area from NC. I accepted a job, but I just got asked to come in for an interview at my "dream" location. Can I still interview, or is it still against policy to do so?
I know the market in VA is less than stellar, but I had a question regarding your hiring season. I'm in a "non-critical" (gosh i hate being called that) fairly low demand field. I've applied in the big Northern VA counties and Virginia Beach. I haven't heard a peep from anybody yet. I know some southern states tend to hire later, though I have no idea if VA does that. Would you say I'm still in the running and might get interviewed in July, or am I pretty much not getting considered since I applied in May and haven't gotten any contact yet? I know it would just be an educated guess, but thank you for your input :)

I will be applying to FCPS. Is their curriculum structured...meaning it is laid out for you on what to do each day and each week? I am looking for a curriculum which is structured. What is the name of their reading program and math program? Is it difficult to implement?
