I keep hearing (for the past 2 1/2 years!) that Loudoun is in such dire straits that I'm beginning to wonder if there is anything in Loudoun worth saving! Are the people really that incompetent? If so, why hasn't this been reported to news outlets and the DOE? Where is the VEA in all of this? I thought they were supposed to help teachers. What is the VEA collecting dues for if they aren't doing what they say they will? The people that are griping about Loudoun need to stop posting it here and start contacting people that have power to make the change. And if you really are that unhappy with your place of employment, why not try to change that?

I'm not looking to be flamed, I just want people to be happy with their careers.

abc Hi Bulldog,

Thanks for your reply. Is your year off to a good start so far?

Does Loudoun tend to hire long term subs when positions become available?

All districts will hire LT subs when needed. Art might be a little bit more difficult to sub for, so you ...See More

abc Interesting for sure. Good luck, I'm sure it will all work out.

I don't think I phrased my question correctly. What I meant was, if a regular position became available, would a LT sub have a better chance of getting hired on as opposed to other candidates.

I've applied to Prince William and many other surrounding districts. ...See More

Bulldog LT Subs would probably have a much better chance especially b/c they've been in the school and the Admin is familiar with them. Although LT subbing is not "Disneyland", it can be a means to the end. Just keep plugging away. I'm sure something will pop up at the right time.
