With all the budget garbage going on, I am tired of dealing with the additional stress of the SOL's. Do more with less. This is the mantra of our educrats. Don't these government types understand that the SOL's Stifle Our Learning? I showed my kids some clips from Stossel's "Stupid in America" (the part on KC schools) and they were shocked that $2 billion was wasted as 1/2 of the KC schools were being closed. They asked if this was the way our county was going and the debate in the government class was amazing. But the biggest fear is that the SOL's are hurting education instead of helping it. And this is the students' view! I just hate dealing with the stress of dealing with NCLB, AYP, and SOL's. I just needed to vent. Ah, sweet release.
