I am a Junior at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursing my degree in Elementary Education and my Master's in Education. I have recently been informed by a family friend that this may not be the best choice for me to make. I will not be graduating for another two years because of the Master's in Education program, but I am getting really nervous. I am concerned about whether or not I should try to continue down this path or run for the hills while I still have some sort of a chance to do so. I would just like some type of advice or relief, because I want to teach really badly and I am entertaining the thought of applying for Teach for America after graduation. I just think that I need some truthful words from people in the heat of this profession.
