Hello! I have certification in Special Ed., Elementary,SS and Science HS.

I was in Florida and currently have a full license in VA, MD and FL. Why does VA seem to have many more job openings than MD. Is it because MD has the union and tenure maybe? Thanks!
PWCS teacher Could be the union thing or that the cost of living is more affordable for the govt workers and military. They get transferred in and out of here all the time. Almost every teacher at my school who is married has a spouse who is either gov't, military, or a govt contractor.

Chris I can't speak from fact, but only from what I "feel" as a job applicant in both states. If you notice, places like fairfax and prince william post all their vacancies. On the other hand, Loudoun does not. If you look at MD, more counties are like Loudoun in that you apply to the county, but only the harder to staff positions are posted. It might "f...See More
