I've been teaching 20 years with awesome references but i had a serious lapse in judgment a decade ago. I've done well at my current school, but want to relocate. Will that one (big) mistake ruin my chances of getting a teaching job in another county?

Leelee Depends on where you are. DUI is not a crime of moral turpitude(murder, stealing, etc.)and usually those are the ones that can prevent you from employment. Is that asked on the application/transfer paperwork?

Not perfect Yes. It's on all the applications I've seen in Virginia. I plan to disclose it, but I'm worried about what they will say.
