I'm taking the liberty of sharing an email I just received about the kidwind project. There are still seats available for a workshop that's to meet on the 24th which I'm thinking would be of some interest to science teachers in the immediate area. Contact information is provided in the email below.
Hello Friends!
Thanks for your application and we look forward to seeing you at the Wind Energy Workshop at Chewonki on June 24th
A web page on Kidwind has been established with a tentative agenda, directions and other useful information about the workshop. Head here to check it out… [link removed] .
We will provide a snack and lunch at this workshop and parking is free in the Chewonki parking lot.
We have some great guest speakers planned and lots of hands on activities to take home so we look forward to your attendance. If for some reason you have had a change in plans please let us know right away as we have to adjust numbers for food and materials.
This workshop still has space for 6 more teachers so if you have any friends that are teachers get them to sign up! There is still time! If they are not interested in wind energy tell them there is free food, materials and Chewonki is in a great location. We are especially interested in attracting teachers from the Carrabassett Valley, Stratton, Rangeley, Kingfield area in ME as they are planning a pretty big wind farm near Sugaloaf and we want to do a more in-depth wind project near there.
If you have the time or interest you might want to read some background information on wind before coming. This is not required but it may make the workshop more useful to you if you do. You can check out some preliminary material here… [link removed]
Well we look forward to seeing you on June 24th and please contact me if you have any questions at all!
I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT IF YOU WOULD becoming a member of an established international post card exchange? If yes, please let me know. I am the organizer of an established international post card exchange. WE HAVE NEVER had a participant from your state and we would LOVE to have an opportunity to exchange post cards with you! I hope to hear from you soon. Thanks! :o)
We still need a representative from your state. Please email me if you would like to participate in sending and receiving approximately 50 postcards from around the United States and a few other countries. We will be sending out the cards starting in September and finishing up before Thanksgiving. Take a look at the website I created to display last years cards for ideas of what to write on the back. It is a great opportunity to see the world without leaving your classroom. I look forward to hearing from you.
Our postcard exchange would really LOVE to have a representative from VT. This is our third year and we have NEVER had your state represented. It's involves a little time and effort, but is really worth it. A great teaching tool and it's fun, too! Email me if interested.
Hi, I am Miss M, a 5th grade teacher, from MS. Your state is needed for a K-6 postcard exchange. We'll only be accepting one address from each state. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for sending a postcard representing your state to all of the 49 states on the list. I will send you a list of all teachers participating in September. The list will close on September 30 or as soon as we have all 50 states. Help me spread the word! We will mail out postcards the month of October. IF you are interested please email me at [email removed].
We need a class from VT to join in our postcard exchange for the 2004-2005 school year. If you are interested in being part of a fun and well organized project please send me an email ASAP.
Here's how our exchange works: You are responsible for obtaining, writing and mailing 49 postcards (one to each state). The postcards should have info about your state, your classroom, etc. Please mail your postcards towards the end of September/early October. I will mail out the address list when it's completed (hopefully soon!).
If you'd like to join and your state is listed above, please give me:
