"I'M FEELING JUST DUCKY" is a free story/coloring book put out by OSSD (Overcoming The Stigma of Seizure Disorders), of Savannah, GA.
We want to reach as many teachers, students, and communities that we possibly can, as seizure disorders are still one of the most misunderstood ailments in society today.
This book tells the tale of a little duck who has seizures, and how he learns to conquer his fears along the way...thanks to Mother Duck and pals.

It is SO IMPORTANT that ALL children know what to expect during a classmate's seizure. This book reaches out in a very gentle and informative manner.
I thought some of you might be interested in my novel entitled "Soul of the South" which is being tentatively released for the winter of 2005. It is filled with action, romance, and intrigue, as my protagonist serves the South as a spy in Washington, as a diplomat in England and France, and as an officer in the Army of Northern Virginia. My protagonist is also adamantly against slavery, as he makes known to President Lincoln and Confederate President Davis. And, of course, there is much romance in my novel, as my protagonist William Lytham meets a beautiful woman from Virginia set against the backdrop of a beautiful woman he meets while in France as a Southern diplomat. Without giving away too many details, William marries one of them amidst much acclamation with a surprise individual as the best man. You are more than welcome to read a chapter excerpt and purchase the novel on my web site at [link removed].

A great group of teachers is looking for several states to join our yearly postcard exchange. We are only interested in dedicated teachers who are willing to be 100% committed to this project, so please only respond if you are truly interested. Unless you have wonderful parent volunteers who are willing to supply your postcards and stamps, you will most likely spend around $50 total on postcards and stamps. Please keep that in mind!
Each teacher is responsible for sending one postcard to each participating teacher (you will send out 49 postcards and in turn receive 49 postcards). Messages on the postcards can be written by your students (or by you if you teach younger grades), and may include interesting facts about the city/state you live in, state symbols, etc. A complete address list will be emailed to you by September 1st (possibly earlier if we have 100% participation by then). The deadline for sending your postcards is October 31st.
If you are interested in joining, please email me the following information:
Your name The grade you teach Your school's name Your school's address Your email address Your school's website or your classroom website address
Once again, please only reply if you are certain that you will be able to participate fully in our exchange. Thanks!!
I am looking for teachers who are dedicated and will participate fully in this project. Each teacher will be responsible for sending a postcard to each of the other states. Please include information about your state such as state symbols and interesting facts. Our third grade curriculum includes learning about our town so we will include that information as well. In return, you will receive a postcard back from each of the states involved. Address labels will be provided to you if you wish. Also, a list of names, addresses, and school websites will be e- mailed to you.
My goal is to mail address labels by September 15th. The mailing deadline for the postcards is November 4th.
If you are interested in participating in this exchange, please send the following information to my email address: kimberleyg2003yahoo.com.

Hi! I'm organizing a postcard exchange in which we hopefully will have at least one class from each state and D.C. pariticpating. All classes send postcards to the other states, and receive one from each in return! It is a lot of fun...a great geography and writing project and you and your students will LOVE it!! Please e-mail ASAP me if you'd like to join us to represent Vermont!! Any grade level is welcome...though many are 2nd grade classes. Thanks! Colleen [email removed]
4th Year Exchange is looking for Vermont and Washington, D.C. to join our postcard exchange for September. That is it! We have a great group of teachers, one from each state, plus we have Puerto Rico and Canada too!
VERMONT - PLEASE JOIN!!! (You too D.C.!)
We hope you join our Postcard Exchange, now in its fourth year. What's great about this exchange is that the teachers are all positive and involved in this project, so the odds are quite high that you will receive over 50 postcards in late September - one from each state, plus one from Canada, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico.
We include one teacher for each state. If you are in our exchange, you can request that I email you everyone's address so your students can address the postcards, or if you prefer, I will mail labels of all the mailing addresses of the other teachers involved - no cost to you! All you have to do is have your students bring in postcards from your state and mail one postcard to each teacher in our exchange.
Besides having this be a great Social Studies project, you can make it a Language Arts project too, and the students can write a short note about their state. Some teachers use a store-bought card and glue a copied message onto each card. Some teachers make a homemade card and copy the message for each card. Whatever you want to do is up to you!
We will all mail the postcards out on Sept. 24th, and in a few weeks after that you will receive a postcard from each of the 50 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and Canada.
I hope you can join us! You can email me directly at [email removed]
