I am trying to locate a teacher named Lois Ray. She was a teacher back in the 90's in the Virginia Beach Schools. She was my daughters elementary teacher and I would love to locate her for my daughter, Wendy. She was an inspiration for Wendy because now Wendy is heading to college to become a teacher also. My daughter keeps asking me if I was able to locate her because she would love to see her again. The last thing I heard is that she was going to Korea to teach, but not completely sure on that. If anyone could help me locate her, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
My class will be reading the story the Gingerbread Man and doing a project with it. I am asking if anyone would mind assisting with this... if you would like to please email me at [email removed].
Project letter: My name is the Gingerbread Man, my friend in CLass 2H was reading a story about me and i jumped out of the storybook to visit you. My friend at school is wondering where I have run to. Please help them by sending them a picture postcard showing them the area where you live. This postcard will be posted on a large map of the world outside of my classroom. This will help the children by showing them how different parts of the world look. I know my friends will enjoy hearing from you and learning where I have run! Thank you for your help! Got to go! The Gingerbread Man

I’m moving to Vermont this summer and will hopefully be able to find an elementary teaching job. What is the best way to get into the system? Are there job fairs in the area? Is it better to send my resume/cover letter to individual principals or just send it to the district office? When do schools begin hiring or start offering new contracts? Is it possible to find a job before the summer vacation?
I did find [link removed]?
I’m focusing on the Burlington area (within an hour drive b/c I'd like to go back to school) but would also consider other places as well, as long as I can find a job.
Are there any particular teaching specialties that are in demand in Vermont? I understand that it is very difficult to find an elementary teaching position in Vermont.
Found a fantastic new chapter-book series for ages 7-9 that the kids in my class are thrilled about. It's called the Incredible Journey Books and it has fast-paced worldly adventures filled with geography facts. The plots are interesting and the series has done the trick to get my third-grade class interested in exploring the world map. The books have a great site that has an Africa unit along with puzzles to go with each book. Go to [link removed].
How are the overall teaching opportunities in the state? My husband and I are both teachers (secondary and elementary, respectively) and are looking to relocate from Michigan, where there is close to no teaching jobs available anywhere! VT is one of the states we are considering, but want to know how easily we would be able to find jobs. We would be more interested in living in a small town or rural area than a city. Any help is appreciated!
My husband and I are teachers in Ohio in our twelfth year right now. We've just about had it with the education problems here, along with being far left-wing tree huggers in a mostly Republican state (don't get me started!). We'd love to move to Vermont, but we BOTH need to find jobs. We're assuming that if we apply to larger districts, then we'll have a better chance of both of us getting hired. My husband teaches art (K-12 cert) and I teach French (K-12 cert). Also, if anyone knows of any good job opportunities with French other than teaching, please chime in! Thanks so much!

Dear Sir/madam, I live in S Wales UK and am currenlty struggling to find employment here due to the economic circumstances and would like to work abroad if any opportunities exist. I would describe myself as very presentable, affable and hard working. I really feel that i have something very considerable indeed to offer to any society. Any reply to this mail would be appreciated. All the best, Steve
Honestly speaking, you will need more than those superficial requirements to get employment as a public school teacher in the States, especially in New England where SAUs are run by locals where nepotism, cronyism, favoritism, and many other lamentable -isms rule supreme. Have you applied for state certification in your field of expertise in Vermont or elsewhere? That can be a long row to hoe, my friend. Do you have reliable contacts who have influence? These and many more factors must be considered prior to even getting an interview. I am not trying to rain on your parade, but you first of all need the proper credentials, recognized here in the States before even considering teaching here. I wish you all the luck in the world, especially in New England.
