OK it turns out it was middle school (last year, '70) and her name was Diane. Anyone hear or know her?
My husband has been offered an administrative position in Morristown and for him to take it, I need to find an elementary position in the area, or even a one year only in the state. We are currently in Hawaii, so job search is a little tricky. I know all about School.spring. Are there any other ins/outs to the hiring system I should be aware of? I have a Masters in Reading, and 12 plus years of experience in the primary grades, good refs, and background in all the curriculums common to the area.

I wasn't able to get my VT license until I was actually living in VT so I obtained a NH license and a New England teaching credential so I had something to show administrators while I was interviewing. (I didn't know how long it would take to get a license after I moved there. Turns out it didn't take too long.)
Good luck. VT is beautiful. It was a little too cold for me and I was terribly homesick so I only stayed 4 years, but it was a wonderful experience.
Hi. I have a quick question, I am a NY state resident, and anticipate moving to VT to get my BA in Education. Will I need to obtain my masters to become a teacher in Vermont?

I'm a NY State mid-career changer who is willing to relocate throughout the northeast to get my start in teaching and have explored all the states from ME to VA. I have found that VT doesn't require a master's. However, a master's in the subject you want to teach will help in getting a job. I hope that helps.
As part of a graduate research project, I need to gather data from current teachers. I’m researching the use of technology in the classroom and what factors affect it. If you could just take a few minutes to complete my survey, I’d appreciate it. The survey is online and has 15 questions.
What measures or strategies are implemented in the classrooms to be successful in academics within the state of Vermont? I'm a fourth grade teacher and researching this summer on how and what I need to do for my students to excel across the board. I plan accordingly to state standards/benchmark but that's not enough. Is there anyone out there with insights/advice?
Hello all! I'm looking for an elementary class that is interested in a postcard exchange project. If you, or someone you know, is interested please let me know. I'm missing a participant for your state.
For this exchange, we will all send a postcard to the other 49 state participants during the school year that contains a real-life (not kid-drawn) picture of their state (or a feature of the state) and some fun facts for the students to learn. (I saw vistaprint.com had some good deals on state postcards bought in bulk). Once I gather all the state participants, I'll forward the addresses of everyone before school starts (in label format so you can peel and stick). In this email I will let everyone know what month they are to send their cards out. This way we get them throughout the year. I will also try my best to send a friendly reminder at the beginning and end of the month for those who are to send out to help remind everyone.
Please email me with the following information so I can mark you down as the participant for your state.
Your name (with appropriate abbr. Miss, Ms., Mrs., Mr.) Your school name Your school address Your grade level
If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me!
