Teachers: soon you will be electing a new superintendent. I am nosy. Why isn't there much discussion on the board about this? I am in Nevada and I am retired. Maybe that is why I have time to be nosy. Juanita Doyan seems to me to be the best choice. Does anyone in Washington have an opinion?
I am of the opinion that if we, the teachers, do not, 'bring back the joy' into the classroom, then drudgery rules. I have decided that unless someone, somewhere starts the movement to 'Bring Back the Joy' into Education, it won't start. So, I looked up your Teachers' Association on the web. I thought I would send each division of your Association a button that says just that. But all you have is one main headquarters, no subdivisions.

Georgia, Thanks. I already have a Doyan button. You can contact locals (or at least those on-line) through the WEA website. Click on "Quick links" at the top of the page. Scroll down to "Local associations" and click. On the Local Associations page, on the right hand column, is an area to access locals. Hope this helps.
AT last fossil reproductions that educators can afford to make for every student. Campers can Use our molds to cast their own full size fossil reproduction for pennies each
I put together the best links for new teachers. Everything from bulletin boards, through discipline, to first day activities. you have to copy and paste these urls and remember some have two lines.
Want to locate if possible, former teacher from the Shoreline School District. Mrs. Hong. She was my 1st Grade Teacher, 1957, at Hamlin Park Elementary . If anybody knows of her/or location, would appreciate any contact.
I am a recent graduate with my Masters Degree in Special/Elementary Education. I would love to do an internship this summer. I participated in a program NYC had last year and worked in Brooklyn, they will not take me this year because I have graduated. Any ideas? Thanks!!!
NIGHT OF THE CORN MAIDEN by Cindy Bramscher is starting to catch on with middle school students – especially those who are reluctant readers. A new Teacher’s Guide is now available for classroom study of the novel. Check out [link removed].
So I have the possibility of a job opening in WA state. When I am doing some checking, I come across the regs. stating that the child/staff ratios for toddlers (at age twelve months) is one to SEVEN? Is this correct, and do most centers have 14 toddlers with 2 teachers?
I can imagine 7 of my 2 year olds possibly, but with 13, 15 mos olds - seven kids seems INSANE. :)
Hi all, My husband and I are teachers from Berlin, CT. Rob recently authored his first book and several school districts across the country are using it with their kids. It's titled, A Winner by Any Standard: A Personal Growth Journey for Every American Teen and it promotes all the ideals upon which future success is built—e.g., optimism, gratitude, self-belief, a strong work ethic, a sense of wonder, humility, originality. Any word of mouth you can spread would be greatly appreciated as #1, it can empower young people and #2, the literary world isn't set up to accept/assist a schoolteacher with no national platform from which to promote. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but... I'm searching for a former teacher who made a profound impact in my life. Mike Alperin was the Fifth Grade teacher at Cascade Elem. in Cascade, Idaho in 1979/80. I believe he moved from there to Deer Park, Washington. If anyone knows how to reach him, please email me. Thank you.
What a surprise to find this email. Debby was showing me the google image search, typed my name in and this came up. Where are you living now? Update us on your life. Email address is [email removed].
