I can't believe that people are not using this chatboard to
discuss what is really happening in Washington. This is a
very scary situation and we all need to communicate to let
everyone know how the budget cuts are affecting the school
districts out there. Let's get a dialog going. My district
is talking 150 layoffs. We are in a major panic over
getting our levy passed. What is happening where you are?

I teach in Texas. Last year in my very small district there
were 40 positions cut. And there is no funding for any
special programs. It is going to be worse this next year.
However, the superintendent and other administrators always
