My district is talking about beginning Open Court to solve
our WASL woes. I remember this program a long time ago in
another state. Who is using this program now? What do you
think of it?

I teach in Texas. I used the old Open Court and absolutely
loved it. The new one sucks. The stories are 2+ grade
levels above grade level. The skills and phonics strategies
are not taught the same way as the old series. The new way
is ineffective. The book is only useful with gifted and
