The Washington Department of Financial Institutions is
sponsoring a financial literacy curriculum initiative in
the 2004/2005 school year. The department will give free
curriculum materials and free teacher training to 50 second
grade teachers from across the State who are interested in
participating in the initiative.

You may learn more about the curriculum that will be used
at the link below. The curriculum is called Money Savvy
Kids and it was designed to be taught in early elementary
grades. Teachers love it because it is totally scripted
and requires no lesson planning. It is 8 units long and
teaches basic personal finance, while reinforcing skills in
math, reading, science, art and music! It gets rave
