I am originally from the Spokane area, Deer Park
specifically, but I am currently stuck in Oklahoma as that
is where my wife is serving with the Air Force. I am a
graduate of Gonzaga and decided to go back for my MA in
social studies education at the University of Oklahoma.
Long story short I'm getting close to completing and I've
also subbed as this state has the psycho requirement of
only having to be out of high school a year to sub. No
education or certification requirement at all. Only the
tip of the iceberg as far as how messed up this state is
but thats another story. I've been checking periodically
the open teaching positions back home in Eastern
Washington and I'm quite worried. I know I'm a qualified
candidate, not only with an MA but I worked 4 years at a
residential treatment facility for at-risk adolescents
while completing my undergrad degree along with having

english, reading, ESL, fantastic coaching... there is almost
no hope for teachers with just a social studies endorsement.

While getting your MA, add another endorsement.
