Hello!

I just seeking out some advice on teaching jobs in Washington State. I'm currently teaching at an international school in Thailand, but I'm ready to return to the States after living abroad for 6 years. I'm a California licensed teacher, but I'm much more interested in Washington (I lived in Oregon for 7 years).

What is the job market supposed to be like next year? I realize it's tight but will it be really bad? I could stick it out at my current school one more school year and the return-- maybe it would be a lot better then.

Any advice?

Caitlin Schifferman Hi Mike, Interestingly enough I am curious about teaching abroad. Can you tell me a little about where you have taught the last six years? Was the overall experience positive? I have heard some horror stories about teaching abroad through illegitimate agencies. Any advice you can offer is much appreciated.

superteacher Job outlook is not that good. If you are serious about getting a job in WA, you've got to learn WA jargon. State test items, standards, etc. That's the only way to make yourself stand out.
