My husband and I are thinking of moving to Washington from Arizona. I can't stand being a teacher in Arizona. I am a good teacher, and really want to put myself to use in better schools. Here, it is pathetic how they are treating education.

How is education valued there? Are teachers actually finding jobs, or is it like it is here - they seem to not mind pulling the rug out from under our feet and lay us off? How hard or easy is it to become certified there from another state?

keam Doc may have a few things skewed. Jobs are VERY hard to find in the Ellensburg area due to the college and small districts. We are seeing very little turn over here and many are not finding jobs in these rural areas. Also, many teachers who can retire are chosing not to do so till the economy changes. Many of my college students graduating in Educa...See More
