We are developing programs to get American children involved in our mission, including fundraising programs and unique learning opportunities. For example, we are developing a "Count Your Blessings" fundraiser in which school children donate (or raise) small amounts of money for each of the many "blessings" they have in their life, like $1.00 for parents; $0.50 for each tv, iPod, Gameboy; $1.00 for their own bedroom; etc. We are also developing the idea of a "sleep out" in which kids raise money and get to experience what it's like to be one of the many homeless kids in Burundi - if only for a night.
We are also uniquely-situated to provide wonderful learning opportunities as two of the organization's co-founders are currently in Burundi and will be there for the school year. They are blogging about their experience on the internet, including photos and narratives of "life in Burundi." They are also learning the local language, culture and agriculture methods, which they post on the blog as well. Your students could also be learning the "word of the day" and unique facts about Burundi life and culture.
As we are a relatively new organization, the opportunities for working with us are endless. Please contact me if you would like to discuss. Monica Riederer - [email removed].

I am looking for a WI school where I can become certified to teach business education. I would like the classes to be offered on-line. I currently have approx. 36 credits so most credits would be easily transferred at this point. Any suggestions?

The district has been a laughing stock and in the newspapers for years.
Paid 100 of thousands of dollars to search for a new Superintendent for two or three years, and ended up with no candidates! Ended up giving it to a retired local who was supposed to "temporarily" fill the position.
One of five WI. schools involved in some stock scheme that has lost millions of the taxpayers dollars.
Search KUSD#1 or KUSD in Wisconsin newspapers, radio T.V. reports at your college where you get free access to SIRS or EBSCO or (whatever your state newspaper/journal service is).

Check out the link above for teaching opportunities in Gwinnett COunty Georgia. My wife and I were born and raised in Packerland and taught there for 20 years, but now teach here, and absolutely LOVE it! This link will give you info on our district. Pay is 40k-80k, half the cost of living of WI, and 3 hours to the beach! YEAH!!! Our kids go to college tuition free, as do all kids in Georgia who have a B average! (This is a VERY wealthy district, c'mon, how many districts do you know of that are looking to hire 3,700 teachers in the next four years???)
