Greetings from Texas. If you dislike the proposal before you so much you're willing to sacrifice your students' classtime, you should quit. Mind you, I'm a teacher. Our jobs are in the classroom, not on the picket line. Shame on ya'll.

I also teach in a non-unionized state and the teachers here are NOT doing fine. We haven't had a raise in almost five years, our pay has been furloughed, we are provided very little materials with which to conduct our classes, the cost for our very horrible insurance keeps going up, etc. etc. Maybe we should all move to TX so we can be as happy as you.
Wisconsin teachers, I applaud you as do many of my colleagues here. What Scott Walker is doing affects my sister and brother-in-law, both teachers in Wisconsin, along with both of my brothers who are civil workers in Wisconsin.
The right to bargain working conditions not just salaryThere's more to a job than money.

I don't believe a teacher posted this. Just an anti-teacher non-teacher that has no idea what education is all about. (I teach in Oklahoma and will retire this May--two years early. I will no longer play the game.)
I stand with the teachers of WI in their fight to keep their bargaining rights. Teachers should not be subject to disrespect by anyone, especially their administration and government officials. Living in FL, one of the next education battefields; I understand their plight!

Actually I shouldnt really say Dems because their hasnt been a real democratic part in the past 15 years. The Commusnist and Socialist are now in charge of that party and are only calling themselves Democrats because they know they would never stand a chance using the name that is truely them.

Madison: Governor Scott Walker's budget repair bill has passed in the Assembly, but Democrats are crying foul, saying the Republicans may have taken an illegal vote.
After 61 hours of debate, it took Republicans in the Assembly just 43 seconds to cut off the debate, pass the bill, send it to the Senate, adjourn and then walk off the floor as the Democrats cried shame.
At 1am, Sun Prairie Democrat Gary Hebl was speaking when the Democrats noticed all the Republicans coming to the floor, many of them wearing their coats.
They asked if all the Democrats would be guaranteed a chance to speak. The answer from Speaker Pro-Tem Bill Kramer was no. Fifteen Democrats still had requested to speak.
As soon as Hebl finished, Kramer immediately made the motion to on the bill himself. "Having been read three times shall the bill be passed? All in favor will vote aye, all opposed will vote no, the clerk will open the roll."
The roll was open for 17 seconds. "The clerk will close the roll. There are 51 ayes, 17 nays the bill is passed."
28 members did not even get a chance to vote, including two Republicans. Four Republicans voted no, meaning only 13 of 38 Democrats were able to vote.

olice have just announced to the crowds inside the occupied State Capitol of Wisconsin: ‘We have been ordered by the legislature to kick you all out at 4:00 today. But we know what’s right from wrong. We will not be kicking anyone out, in fact, we will be sleeping here with you!’ Unreal
