Madison: Governor Scott Walker's budget repair bill has passed in the Assembly, but Democrats are crying foul, saying the Republicans may have taken an illegal vote.

After 61 hours of debate, it took Republicans in the Assembly just 43 seconds to cut off the debate, pass the bill, send it to the Senate, adjourn and then walk off the floor as the Democrats cried shame.

At 1am, Sun Prairie Democrat Gary Hebl was speaking when the Democrats noticed all the Republicans coming to the floor, many of them wearing their coats.

They asked if all the Democrats would be guaranteed a chance to speak. The answer from Speaker Pro-Tem Bill Kramer was no. Fifteen Democrats still had requested to speak.
