Brothers and sisters from WI, I represent AFSCME Council 31 Local 172 from Dixon, Illinois. Gov. Quinn is attempting to nullify our negotiated union contracts. He has proposed closing 7 State Operated Facilities. He wants to drastically reduce the pensions of state and public employees. The Gov. is fighting contract language judicially. He refuses to pay us our raises, he wants to layoff 1900 w...orkers! Our lawsuit was thrown out the judge said the Gov. "breeched" the contract but didn't "impair" it. On Wed. Oct 26th at the capital 12noon We Are One Illinois is holding a broad labor coalition against these issues. AFSCME and the AFL-CIO are calling on all in the labor movement for support. Will you help us? We have been to madison, milwaukee several times, and now we need some of our brothers and sisters down here. Spread the word. Solidarity! WE ARE ONE!!!!!!!!
