Hi! I'm seeking input regarding what professional teacher groups teachers really belong. I often advise per-service teachers to join KappaDelta Pi, NAEYC, CEC, etc... But, do in-service teachers really belong to these groups?

I was a Kappa girl in college. We used to haze our pledges and make them have pillow fights in their under pants while drinking Olympia beer.
I was on the WV Dept of Ed web site to check the job bank. Do the counties post vacancies that they already have someone in mind for or are the vacancies really available?

As to how much time you spend in the building, that really has nothing to do with how much work you are doing. Most teachers work at home.

We have been doing this for years. We now have a computer system for the entire county. We type the 1st four letters of our last name and a list appears--you click on your name--it shows what time you signed in. We also do it if we leave early.
Do you want an opportunity to take part in research that could positively impact your students and your classroom? By participating in our short survey, you will be helping us collect data for a study investigating obstacles and feasibility of psychological recommendations. Because these scenarios may be similar to what you have seen in your classroom, your input is very valuable! Once you complete the survey, you will be eligible for a $25 gift certificate to reallygoodstuff.com. Please feel free to pass this along to your teacher friends and co-workers as we need as many responses as we can get! All responses are completely confidential and participation is optional. Thank you!
