The following states are still needed to complete our Postcard Exchange: AK, MT, WY ONLY the above states are needed.
If you are interested, please e-mail me your school address. crutherford_308yahoo.com We would love to have you. To find out more about the Postcard Exchange, read on.
I teach 5th grade and find that a postcard exchange ties in well as a geography review, as well as writing--the format of a postcard.
If you choose to join, your job will be to send each participant a postcard. Usually I have my class create one postcard and then photocopy and glue it on individual postcards. In the letter we include information about our state and our school.
Then when we receive the various cards from other states we display them on a bulletin board. I put a U.S. map on the wall and everytime I receive a card we put a pin in that city/state and attach the postcard.
My students love receiving the postcards. They have an opportunity to learn little things about states and schools.
At the end of the summer I will be e-mailing all of the participants a list of addresses that will be involved in the exchange.
Let me know if you have any other questions or if you are interested so I can take your state off of our list.
Here's how our exchange works: You are responsible for obtaining, writing and mailing 49 postcards (one to each state). The postcards should have info about your state, your classroom, etc. Please mail your postcards towards the end of September/early October. I will mail out the address list when it's completed (hopefully soon!).
If you'd like to join and your state is listed above, please give me:
Your name Your email address Grade Level School Name School Address

Are there any Wyoming teachers who check this chatboard who'd like to become email buddies? It looks like the only posts on this board are for Postcard exchanges.
Hi, Miss M’s Postcard Exchange is looking for your state. The exchange is open to K-6 grades. We only need 7 more states. All postcards will be mailed out in October. We'll only be accepting one address from each state. Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for sending ONE postcard representing your state to all of the 49 states on the list. I will send you a list of all teachers participating in September. The list will close on September 15th or as soon as we have all 50 states. Help me spread the word! We will mail out postcards the month of October. To sign up or to ask questions, email me directly at [email removed]

Are you still interested in a postcard exchange? I'm starting one and we need your state. I saw your posting on about.com. Let me know if you're interested please. Here what I've been posting:
***Th exchange is starting off very well! Please join!
I am starting a postcard exchange because I live in NY and I am unable to join groups because they already have NY. I am organized and I know this can work! I am looking for teachers from any grade level who are committed and will follow through and participate in a postcard exchange for the school year 2004-2005. I'd like to have all postcards out by October.
****Please only write me if you are committed to this. Here's how it works:
Send me your name, school name and address, grade and e- mail. You send out a postcard to each state (and D.C.) and you'll get 50 back to share with your class!
Hi I am interested in the postcard exchange with you. My son who is 4 is really interested in collecting postcards and I would love to help you get your states. Let me know if I can help. Thanks Melissa
