We are a different postcard exchange than the one posted below. We are a Kindergarten/first grade postcard exchange. We also need Wyoming! First one to email me gets it! :) [email removed]
For heaven's sake, post something once on the "project" board and be done with it.

I'm sorry. I didn't know I would be so unwelcomed here. I just wanted all 50 states to be able to participate. Not everyone looks at the project board. Sorry. I will go to another site to look for Wyoming then. Again, I'm sorry.
We only need 8 more states: AK, DE, HI, ND, SC, UT, VT, WY
(This project combines a traveling buddy and a 50 state postcard exchange)
Our project centers around a stuffed puppy named Ollie! He wants to travel across the country meeting children from each state. We are looking for a participating class from EACH OF THE 50 STATES!
I am looking for teachers who are dedicated and will participate fully in this project. Last year we had had a wonderful response rate and I would like to see that continue.
Each teacher will be responsible for sending a postcard to each of the other states. Please include information about your state such as state symbols and interesting facts. Our third grade curriculum includes learning about our town so we will include that information as well. In return, you will receive a postcard back from each of the states involved. Address labels will be provided to you if you wish. Also, a list of names, addresses, and school websites will be e-mailed to you. My goal is to mail address labels by mid to end of September. The mailing deadline for the postcards is October 27th.
If you are interested in participating in this exchange, please send the following information to my email address: kimberleyg2003yahoo.com.
Name
Grade you teach
E-mail address
Name you would like on mailing label (Ms. G's Third Grade Class)
Hi! I am trying to find out if anyone in Wyoming is using my music yet, just out of curiousity. I know of 34 out of 50 states that have at least one person that uses HeidiSongs- but not Wyoming. Is there anyone from Wyoming out there using Sing and Spell or Jumpin' Numbers? Heidi
Once I have all 50 states plus Wash. D.C. filled, I will send out an email with a list of the participating teachers and ways to incorporate this exchange into your curriculum. Also, I will snail mail FREE LABELS to make your life easier. Please contact me now if you would like to join. I need one teacher from each state listed above. By October 1st each participating teacher will need to send a postcard to each participating teacher. Thanks for your help. Contact me if you have questions. :)

Hah, yeah, that guy (or girl) sounds like he or she has a chip.
Now, granted, I must admit, I was in a situation where a student who was extremely mean and upset over me calling a parent/teacher conference over his ruthless and merciless behavior tried to get me fired. He succeeded. His Dad is a popular Italian and a long-time teacher in the district at the very high school where I taught. Sometimes recklessness in kids rules the day. But I still pursued work and continue to teach to this day. However, I must say that discipline is continually being undermined and viewed as harsh. So, in the long run, after 6 years of teaching, I am opting for another educational option-- online teaching. So, for teachers who have the passion but don't want to deal with the personalities, I recommend it. Nothing is more frustrating that loving to teach the kids and then have them turn around and ruin your life when you have reached out to them time and time again.
Very sad. Teaching is the most rewarding experience when the kids respect great teaching and passion. But it is so hurtful when those kids don't see what they are getting. And then they turn on you.

Dont teach if you have any other options, it is a life of stress, low pay, angry and sometimes evil children and parents who think you know nothing. You will come across a good school once in a while with good administrators(they do exist ive heard) and children who arent satanic but its a very hard career. When you do get good kids its fulfilling but that tends to be short lived.
We're having Lexile shoved down our throats. Is it valid? How do you find time for testlets? Is it worth the time? Any info, good or bad, is appreciated.
Why is it ok for you to post this here and not me? I don't
understand. :( Good luck in your quest to find all 50
states, though! It's tough!
