I live in Florida and I am currently working towards my teaching certification. One of the tests that we are required to take is the General Knowledge Test (GKT). It is made up of 4 parts (1 Essay, Math, English Language Skills, and Reading Comprehension). I have passed all the sections except for the Reading section (I run out of time). It consists of typically 4-5 reading passages, 40 questions, and has to be completed within 55 minutes. I have been told many different strategies (i.e. read the questions before reading the passage, read the 1st sentence of each paragraph then read the questions and answer as many as I can then go back and read the entire passage, read the passage really fast then answer the questions, etc...).
Well, to make a long story short, I wanted to see if there are any other states, like Florida, that require a Reading Comprehension section that is part of their teaching certification process. What practices, tips and tricks, strategies would you suggest or recommend that could help me pass this section of the test.
Do they take bad information from boring textbooks?
I want to share the upcoming free webinar wich will not only acquaint you with the case-lessons, but also provide answers to the actual questions. Those who have extensive practical experience in conducting case-lessons will share their tricks and secrets. You will receive a lot of interesting information from the authors and developers of the cases. For the first time they will share their new ideas with you.
I think it will be interesting not only for teachers, but also for parents.
