Speaking of books, I just finished listening to "Homo Deus." Wow! History. Futurism. Speculation. Absolutely fascinating.
9733 today. My walk was cut short by a delightful, but unexpected visit from a distant cousin. And, here's a quotation from "Time" Magazine: "There's even a magic number of steps to reach in order to protect against bringing grouchiness home: 10,500, just over the standard daily goal of most fitness trackers." Guess I need to up my game!
I went to a birth...See MoreElaine: I wonder how Mr Time Magazine came up with that exact number of steps? I know after we have been cycling in spinning class about half way through, our endorphines start setting in (at least the instructor tells us that) and that means we are happier. Do you think that is what happens at that magic number of steps?
I went to a birthday party last night for a neighbor and there was a teenager wearing a Goshen College Maple Leaf shirt. I asked her if she went there and she said, no, but it was on her list. Small world, huh?
I did nothing exercise wise today. I slept in later then my 7 hours and have been working on selling books on Teachers Bargain Basement on and off all day. My hubby said I needed to get rid of all these children's books in the garage, my closets, on bookshelves, etc - literally hundreds left even after donating and selling hundreds already. Now that the youngest is reading higher level books, I held on to some favorites in picture books and resolved to sell the rest. I am glad people recommended that site. It is fun, but very time consuming.
I found out we did 26 miles yesterday instead of the 22, so I thought I deserved a day off. lol
I had a group of cyclists pass me on the road about 1:30. They had been riding since 7 AM and they kept riding when I stopped. I have absolutely no interest in doing that ever.
Crazy week, though I did get ...See MoreMen, your ride sounds great. 22 miles at 11 mph is impressive. The fun is that you get to stop. Location. Location. Location. Lucky bakery owner.
Bev, goodness, you're an overachiever. Enjoy your company. Three cheers for your weigh in!!!
Darn, Judy. The gnomes are at it again. Aggravating.
Crazy week, though I did get my 10K in every day if I average them all together. We did a short bike ride tonight. Only 6 miles. With hills. And wind in our faces on the way back on the way home. New battery in my iPhone today. Crossing my fingers that I get another year or two on this phone.
flackaThere are a lot of good bargains for teacher resources, teacher books, books for a classroom library, and more on the FB site Teachers Bargain Basement. Many, but not all, of the items are gently used but are sold at a great discount. It is a closed group but joining gives you access to some great deals.
Deb ms/IADiscipline. Not for the regular kids, not for my sped kids, but for my "I don't care kids." Only a few kids but they do so disrupt the class setting.
WW weigh in was finally a positive one. -1.6# I did keep closer track of food journal and cut out the late night snack. Used the points tracker, I found a couple of items were more points than I was counting! Cut back on those items, for sure!!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend. Keep movin'!
