Hi Bob, I'm trying to reach you by PM to ask a question but when I tried to use the Site Information/Contact TeachersNet page I kept getting an error message. What's the best way to reach you?
My treadmill warm up was 5 minutes, 3.5 mph, and a 10 degree incline.
Set 1, repeated 3 times --dumbbell squat, alternating leg back toe tap, 20 lbs, 20 reps --overhead press, straddle stance, 32 lbs bar, 10 reps --kettlebell swing, 15 lbs, 15 reps --kettlebell windmill, 15 lbs, each side, 10 reps
Set 2, repeated 2 times --walking lunges, 18 lbs weighted bar, across and back studio --leg swings, 20 reps, each leg --incline push up, 20 reps --walking lunges, tricep extension, 12 lbs weighted bar, across and back studio
Trainer did the 20 minute stretch to finish my hour.
Trainer had to adjust my workout in 2 places: --In set 1, the overhead press was supposed to have me raise to my toes. As you may recall, my feet refuse to do anything together. Today was no different. I almost toppled over so she cut the toe raise. --In set 2, the weighted bar was dropped to 9 lbs because I couldn't get a full extension.
We had a bad storm roll through on Monday. Tornadoes hit San Antonio, about a half hour south of me. We just got strong winds and rain. I looked at my pool this morning and it was full of debris. So, after the gym, I spent over an hour trying to vacuum all the leaves out. It usually takes me 20-30 minutes to vacuum, but I had to keep emptying the filter basket.
Judy, how lovely for you for the daffodils. And for the chat with your friend.
13185 steps today on 3 walks with DD (and DGS, who rides the stroller all the time in NYC, but here in the country, he sees grass, and he wants to run). Making up for some neglect in stepping the last few days.
We had quinoa stuffed peppers for dinner. Yum yum.
Today I decided to push myself a bit more in my cardio. I planned to jog the 2 miles. I used the walk to the running path as my warm up. It's only .05 miles but I walked briskly. Once I got to the path, I started to jog. That's when the mind/body battle began. My mind was all for this plan of running, but my body didn't feel the same way. It was so hard to keep my feet jogging. I desperately wanted the runner's high to kick in. It never did. I was able to finish my run in 38.01.
Back in the dressing room, guess what happened? That runner's high kicked in! So, I used that to push my aqua jogging workout. I used the therapy pool since it gave me a better workout than the lap pool. My goal was to get more sets in in the 30 minutes. I was able to get in 12 3/4 sets in! I really used my arms to propel me in the water. I finished the last 1/4 of my set because my OCD won't let me not do it.
There is a charity 5K in April and I am hoping to do it.

At least you were able to utilize the burst! When I am cycling, that point is when I stop feeling much and can push myself harder and with more resistance.
I had to cancel my reservation for spin class since I had my annual physical. I passed with high marks and am considered to be in excellent shape - doing all the right things the doctor said, I guess I get a complete deal in a year for "free" compliments of the Medicare program (unless the government changes that by raising them) I will be back to spinning on Thursday. Meanwhile it's just all the walking I do at work and with the grandkids which is plenty.
Keep movin' everybody!

Suggested activities somewhere along the way: 1) have experience working with children (camp counselor, Sunday school teacher, etc) and 2) spend a significant amount of time in a classroom as a volunteer or shadowing a teacher
