Made it to my cycling class and I was able to reach 19 miles! I think that I was able to do that just one other time. There was a lot of "mountain climbing" so I got the extra miles starting five minutes before class and cycling through the entire cool down song. It was a tough class yet very rewarding. I also got my right shoe clipped in my first try this am. Wish I could say the same for my left foot, but I eventually was able to clip it on the pedal.
We are expecting decent temps most of the rest of the week. We even made it to the park once already this week. It feels like spring which I know is just a nature's tease for around here. The six year old saw the news with the ice storm out west and was describing it to me this am. She was concerned to see all the damage.
I am thinking of making a crockpot of vegetable soup for a change of pace. We just finished the pot of chili yesterday.

I've been good about taking my dog to the either the park or walking him around the neighborhood. But he's so slow these days, so I don't get in a brisk walking pace by any means. So, I've taken to keep moving in place when he stops, or walking backwards with him (which slows ME down to match his pace) so I can up the benefits for me. He made me laugh, though. While holding the leash and walking ahead of him but facing backwards (are you with me? ha) my dog kept looking backwards, maybe to see what I might be looking at. Haha!
Can you believe I have not been on the trails since I last posted? I have been doing the exercise video instead, though I am starting to miss hiking. Maybe today is the day, as heavy rain is again expected tonight, so it's now or not again for a while since there'll be mud, mud, mud!
You all are doing so well. I've got to step it up! (Ha, see what I did there?)
Grow up and show some respect to the people you want to help you. A simple second request rather than a smart ___ response might have gotten you the help you asked for.

Thanks Scratch...See MoreI don't know if it is just winter(-11 yesterday) or a combination of winter and menopause but my skin is really dry. Legs, arms back are driving me crazy. Even my scalp is dry.
Recommendations for lotions that work for dry skin. Only thing is I don't want it to stink like "old lady" medicated lotion (LOL).
The best lotion I ever used was one doc rec'd years ago when I was on a med that caused dry skin was Ca*rm*ol 10. It is not prescription. The ingredient that makes it so effective is u*re*a. You can order it online if your pha*rmacy doesn't have it. They will usually order it for you too. I don't recall it having any smell in particular.
Car*mol 20 is a heavier cream, 10 is a light lotion. The 10, 20, 40 is the percent of u*rea.
If you do not want to get that hit the diabetic section of your dr*ugstore as they usually have one there that has urea but a lower amount so it isn't as effective.
10,336 steps so far. Pt workout followed with 3 miles at the senior center hall. Light lunch (1/2 sandwich with cottage cheese, carrots). I am determined to get some of this extra poundage off!!
I'm having a productive day. Walked 10,000 steps with a friend--fun yakking. Been to Target. Chicken is in the crockpot. Spuds are peeled. Washer is going. Time to relax.

When I got home I decided to do that "Low Impact 30 minute cardio workout". I like it! It's great how there are so many exercise videos to choose from on YouTube so you can do it without leaving home. I know my muscles got worked, because I'm feeling it. Yay.
The trails are still a bit muddy and actually supposed to be off-limits for hikers, though I saw lots of cars parked next to the trails. I've learned that what happens is the trails get eroded from people walking along the side of the path on muddy days (I'm guilty, too). So the path widens over time. I've seen this firsthand but didn't really realize the impact until I educated myself. So, now I try to be more conscientious about it.
judycaret Did my 10,000 steps with a friend. Great walk today. Then we cooked apples in the crockpot--DH peeled them--using trivia and spices. They were delicious.
