@ judycaret: Rain came to us last night, and it's still raining--quite hard, too. What a sight to behold to see so much water coming down from the sky. Good job on walking despite the sprinkles!

@ Ah, Elaine, "Emergency babysitter, will travel". I'm sure there was smiles all around at that Christmas concert last night.

@ Babs: Brrr, it is so cold where you live. You are hardy folk. I love that you have your Christmas traditions with the grandkids. "Schnitzbrot" is something new to me. That sounds hard to make! It is certainly made with love by you. You're awesome.

@ men: I'm sure the fact that you work out helps your body endure those long hours at work! I hope you have a safe drive today to OH. Cookies, yum!

Since it's so wet here today, looks like an indoor session on the stationary bike is in order. My big walk yesterday left me with sore thighs, so I'll have to see how much pedaling I can do. I'm OUT of shape now, it seems, a...See More

8,000 step walk today. I hope to start going for more soon, but I find that being at goal weight makes me dangerously complacent. I did receive this badge from Fitbit today:

Thanks for the good wishes. Husband had to drive over to the grocery about an hour ago to give dd a ride home when she missed the bus. We were not aware of any precipitation, but here it is really bad. There is a complete coating of ice and people couldn't even get out to their cars out of the store it was so slick. The employees were out there trying to help customers out to the car by throwing bags of Ice Melt out in front of them as they slipped along. He was lucky to get home, that's for sure. Now I am nervous because I have to be at work before 7AM and I am afraid the roads won't be clear that early. Of course, snow is supposed to come sometime, too tonight. I hope everything settles down by the time we hope to leave by 1 with the warmer temps. I know huge amounts of snow like the upper midwest is getting is hard to deal with, but an invisable coating of ice on everything is really bad, too.

I have never ice skated, only roller skated. I remember saying at a family gathering decades ago that I didn't know how to ice skate and my mother was so shocked. (She grew up in Cleveland so of course, she knew how to ice skate). I told her how could I know how to skate when no one ever took me or taught me? It looks like fun. I LOVED roller skating and I tried it at a rink on New Year's Day about 4 years ago with a couple of my grandchildren (their first time). I actually did put on skates for that first time in probably 30-35 years and had a blast. I was surprised at how easily it came to me. I was able to inspire a couple other grandma aged ladies to put on skates, too. It was interesting because one was from Sweden and she thought roller skating was more difficult then ice skating. I assume that would be what a lot of people would think depending on what they grew up doing. I never skated in rinks, only sidewalks. We have a little ice rink here in town now, so I think you have inspired me to take the grandkids to that this winter. Oh, I did end up falling roller skating and hitting my head when I didn't stop when I knew I was getting tired. I realized how lucky I was that I didn't get knocked out or broke something. You were wise to not take a chance with your bones.

Bev-MI Love, love, love hearing about all the different activities being engaged! Keep it up! :)

Yesterday was spent shopping and then wrapping at DM's. Today I did get 2 miles on the treadmill, after uncovering my car in her driveway. More is coming this evening. Heading back in a few minutes. I wanted to check in and read the roll call!
