Hi, I teach kinder at a Title I school. High poverty. Mostly minorities. I am in my second year after having been a sped teacher for a number of years. I feel as though I am a ruthless dictator with my class. If I am not they simply go nuts and no instruction takes place. I was explaining this to another teacher and telling them that if my classroom management is not totally strict then my instruction will be useless. Is it okay to be a ruthless dictator and a teacher???!! BTW this is a failing school so we are under tons of pressure to get good test results! I am nice one-on-one to the kids....! What is your opinion?!
