At a colleague's house. She had great food and things to drink. But she and her husband used glass plates, glass glasses, and cloth napkins while providing paper plates/napkins and styrofoam cups to guests. She said "we hate drinking out of styrofoam."

I wouldn't have the cheeseballs to do that!

Have you considered reciprocating an invite... You could have something really nice to eat, whatever your idea of that is and feed the two of them a McDonald's happy meal. Be sure to tell them how much you hate eating McDonald's yourself as you take apart your lobster or whatever. Aside from the comment... Aside from the comment about hating Styrofoam, I suppose I could be guilty of this. I start a glass earlier in the day, and just keep using it even once company arrives. They then use the plastic cups I have out.

AM I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even notice your glass. I would be too busy chatting and laughing with everyone else. Life is too short.

Jme I am very sorry for those who would look fo such an insignificant reason to feel slighted. I would feel grateful to be invited and for the good food and drinks.
