Has anyone had success in getting professionals to visit their schools in order to give students an ice of what a particular profession would be like? It's been my experience that sometimes children from underprivelged areas don't get exposure to certain professions, and that may limit their aspirations and dreams. If you have conducted such sessions, do you find them beneficial? What are some best practices?

I retired a couple of years but my elementary school had a career day. We invited parents to come to school and share information about their jobs.
