I don't know if it is just winter(-11 yesterday) or a combination of winter and menopause but my skin is really dry. Legs, arms back are driving me crazy. Even my scalp is dry.

Recommendations for lotions that work for dry skin. Only thing is I don't want it to stink like "old lady" medicated lotion (LOL).

mariep For years I used various locations and my skin stayed dry. This visited the dermatologist and she prescribed AmLactin Cerapeutic. It's now available without prescription. I use it twice a day and the difference is amazing.

Dermatologist also recommended Dr Dan's Cortibalm for my chapped lips. Best I've ever used.

2 recommendations For me, Aquaphor is really good when my hands get chapped and dry from too many hand-washings--sometimes, I'll wear white cotton gloves to bed once I put on some Aquaphor. I do NOT "slather" and it still works great, especially overnight. Equate is cheaper than Aquaphor, but does NOT do as good a job.

The best lotion I ever used was one doc rec'd years ago when I was on a med that caused dry skin was Ca*rm*ol 10. It is not prescription. The ingredient that makes it so effective is u*re*a.
