Last week was awful. I started with a strained lower back that kept me away form the gym on Monday. Tuesday, mom had lab work done and then we spent the rest of the day shopping. My back was still hurting so I had planned to skip the gym anyway. Tuesday evening things took a turn for the worse--I had the flu! The rest of the week was spent in bed trying to recover. I managed to get better by the weekend, but this morning, I woke up with a sore throat and some head and chest congestion. I decided to give the gym a go.

Today is strength/cardio day. My strength workout was not a good one as I felt like I was just too weak to do what I needed to do. I completed the workout, but cut either weight or time during the second and third sets. Very blah!

Cardio was a very slow walk and only 1.27 miles. That alone took 29 minutes. I felt very weak and unsteady so I cut the second mile.

Elaine/ret/IN Oh, hugs for you, JRod (virtual = germ-free). Go easy on yourself. Today's gym experience will be your low point. From here on out, it's upward bound. I hope.
