I am currently a college student minoring in Education and have a weekly field placement at a local high school. In this classroom, the students are no longer responsive to the teacher when she asks them to focus. At times they might seem as if they have understood what she is asking of them, but then they proceed to go on their phones and talk to their classmates. In this situation, what would be the best way to maintain student focus when calling students out and reminding them of classroom rules is no longer helpful?
