EXERCISE ROLL CALL - Thursday

Happy to see two are still reporting. I have been so tied up with taking care of DM. she is doing better since hospital stay. Just finished up with three weeks of visiting home nurse and phy. therapist. I am getting home more often with dn staying some of the week. I have kept up my pt visits and using the machines as well as walking. Today's steps 8823.

Good luck with the garage sale this weekend, men. Envious with your cycle group. Sounds like fun.

Elaine, you are like the energizer bunny. You just keep on going! Yea for your road trips and getting to spend some time with family.

Keep on movin!.

We are the ones left fo be the aging parents; so our focus is on the opposite age group raising grandchildren. After experiencing both I definitely prefer the youngster care. I am not nearly as tied down with three active grands then taking care of one sick elderly parent. It looks like you have a good support system developing.

Our battery operated smoke alarm started beeping like it does when the batteries get low.. a very early alarm clock which translates into an early start today. I kept hearing this unusual sound outside the open window before I realized it was an owl! So my day is off!

With these 90+ degree temps come the severe thunderstorms in the evening. Too hot to ride in the day and too stormy in the evening so won't be cycling today again. The youngest is taking off in swimming lessons so now poor me has to take her to the pool to practice budding skills. This one has all the right characteristics for being a very good athlete so I am trying to give her as many opportunities as possible to explore different sports now before she has to decide on her focus.

Next week is busy with the teen as the team meets to put in a plan on high school placement in the fall. She is part of the meeting and her mindset is not realistic. Not looking forward to that discussion. Next day we travel to the children's hospital after a six month wait for her turn for an assessment of what really is going on with her(beyond just being a teenager) Since we took her out of the school where there were too many social problems, all that stress and mental anguish went away. Now we can see more clearly the things that are not right because the school environment is not complicating the situation. Throw in day camp, swim lessons, crochet lesson, etc I am not sure how much cycling I will fit in. It depends on the weather. I will prevail!

Husband is taking care of the garage sale so if the predicted storms hold off, I am cycling with the training group. Next week we leave the safe bike trails and start on the county roads. This also means longer distances at a higher speed. I am ready!
