Learn to identify and fix comma splices!

The latest video lesson from Never Stop Learning takes an in depth look at identifying comma splices:

*comma between two independent clauses (complete sentences)

*how to identify a complete sentence (independent clause) by finding the subject and the predicate

AND

more importantly, shows students how to fix comma splices by:

*replacing the comma with a period thereby forming two complete sentences, correctly punctuated

*replacing the comma between the two independent clauses with a semi-colon thereby forming a compound sentence

*adding a coordinating conjunction (FANBOYS) to the beginning of the second independent clause thereby also forming a compound sentence
