Teaching Certification - Reading Section

Good Morning Everyone!

I live in Florida and I am currently working towards my teaching certification. One of the tests that we are required to take is the General Knowledge Test (GKT). It is made up of 4 parts (1 Essay, Math, English Language Skills, and Reading Comprehension). I have passed all the sections except for the Reading section (I run out of time). It consists of typically 4-5 reading passages, 40 questions, and has to be completed within 55 minutes. I have been told many different strategies (i.e. read the questions before reading the passage, read the 1st sentence of each paragraph then read the questions and answer as many as I can then go back and read the entire passage, read the passage really fast then answer the questions, etc...).
