For those of you stuck on passing the essay portion of the GK, trying writing about the poem (if you're given one as a choice). Poetry break-down is easier than writing to prompts. If you brush up on ELA terms like: metaphors, simile, etc. it's easier to describe what's going on within the poem...that's how I finally passed.

Now, I'm stuck on passing the Reading. I take the test next Saturday, Mar. 16th for the 10th time. Any suggestions? Has anyone taken it recently and remember what the passages were? I'd even like to get a hold of these passages their using but I can't find them. Please help...email me at tarliecechavers@yahoo.com
Azarel Love I didn't know we had a poetry choice instead of doing an essay? I was told it's one prompt and you write on that

teacherheart Congratulations on passing with a creative poem! Understanding the essay graders have a rubric/check list guidelines, there are hundreds of essays to be graded. There is strategic techniques to slay the essay within 50 minutes. I have the content, but time is a work in progress......
