Looking to connect with teachers working on inclusion in a meaningful and authentic way. I am moving schools in September and will be the department head of Learning Support Services where we support a number of complex students from a variety of diverse backgrounds and looking to develop my practice. I have been teaching for a number of years but this will be the first time that I will have a full time department head position and I am wanting to make lasting change for our students with designations and students that need support be it social emotional, physical, spiritual, emotional or other.

As I will be coming in to a school that has established programs for students with diverse needs, what is something that I can do at the start of school to immediately make a connection with the programs without "stepping on toes" or "rocking the boat" too much?
