I am a 10th year special education teacher working for the New York City Department of Education looking to make a shift to Southern New Jersey. Currently I work in a specialized District that is part of the public school system that works solely with students with moderate to severe disabilities. All self contained 6:1:1 and 8:1:1 classes. When I transitioned to New Jersey I would like to find a similar teaching position that is within the public school setting but is there a school that's all self contained classes? Also has anyone had experience applying for a NJ teaching license having had their license in NY? If so was it hard? Thanks!
