I see most people on this site using the methods from Basic
Writing Skills incorporated into 6 Trait. That is what my
school does. The Lucy Caulkins model is way too "touchy
feely" and based on the whole language notion that children
are natural writers and don't need direct teaching. I love
the BWS strategies,too. I took the course in White Plains.
It was amazing!

Well, I love writing, and this means EVERY type of writing. I
agree with you that expository writing is important in school, in
